Deborah Lynn "Debbie" Friedman (ca. 1952 – January 9, 2011[1]) was an American composer and singer of songs with Jewish religious content. She was born in Utica, New York but moved with her family to Minnesota at age 5. She is best known for her musical version of “Mi Sheberach,” the prayer for healing, which is used by hundreds of congregations across America.
She wrote many of her early songs as a song leader at the overnight camp Olin-Sang-Ruby Union Institute in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin in the early 1970s. Between 1971 and 2011 she recorded more than 19 albums. Her work was inspired by such diverse sources as Joan Baez, Peter, Paul and Mary, and a number of folk music artists. She used English and Hebrew lyrics and wrote for all ages. Some of her other songs include "The Aleph Bet Song", "Not By Might", For Hanukkah, "Miriam's Song", for Passover, and "I am a Latke", also for Hanukkah.[citation needed]
In 2004,[2] A Journey of Spirit, a documentary film about Friedman, was produced by Ann Coppel.[3][4]
In 2007, Friedman accepted an appointment to the faculty of Hebrew Union College-Jewish Institute of Religion's School of Sacred Music in New York where she instructed both rabbinic and cantorial students.[5]
She was admitted to an Orange County Hospital in January 2011, where she died January 9, 2011, from pneumonia.[6][1]

After one radio talk show, Judge Roll's name logged more than 200 phone calls as some callers threatened the judge and his family[3]. T
his resulted in the judge and his wife being placed under a full-time protective detail for one month. A US Attorney's investigation identified four men
as the makers of the threats, but no charges were filed[3].
In a July 9, 2009 interview with the Arizona Republic, Judge Roll described the time under high security as "unnerving and invasive. . . .
By its nature it has to be," Roll said. Roll also said, "It (the security) was handled very professionally by the Marshals Service."

Ben Roethlisberger

Rabu, 05 Januari 2011

Mini Biography

Drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers as the heir apparent to Tommy Maddox, Ben Rothelisberger wound up taking the NFL by storm in the 2004 season. When Maddox went down with an injury in Pittsburgh's 2nd week loss of 2004 to the Baltimore Ravens, Rothelisberger was elevated to starting quarterback, and the Steelers' season was never the same. Nicknamed Big Ben due to an imposing build that was unusual for quarterbacks, Rothelisberger won in his first official start in week three of 2004, and won again in week four. He and the Steelers kept winning in subsequent games, and suddenly the Steelers, a year removed from a poor 2003 season, were becoming an AFC force.

It was during the 2004 Halloween weekend that Rothelisberger officially "arrived" when Pittsburgh hosted the defending Superbowl champion New England Patriots, who had compiled an NFL-record 21 consecutive victories. This streak came crashing to a half as Rothelisberger led the Steelers to a 34-20 triumph, giving Pittsburgh the edge in the AFC. The following Sunday Rothelisberger handed the visiting Philidelphia Eagles a 27-3 pounding, the Eagles' first loss of the year and which led to the infamous Terrell Owens-Donovan McNabb sideline incident. Now Pittsburgh was listed a Superbowl contender, and opposing defenses were forced to pay far more attention to Rothelisberger than they could ever have anticipated. Big Ben began to be tested more as the 2004 season wound down, notably in a dramatic shootout with the Eli Manning-led New York Giants, but Rothelisberger continued to triumph, and led the Steelers to a spectacular 15-1 2004 season.

Entering the playoffs, however, Rothelisberger was now a target of opposing defensive schemes, and facing the New York Jets Rothelisberger committed several ill-fated plays, notably a pair of 4th-quarter interceptions. But two botched New York Jet field goal tries allowed Rothelisberger to lead the Steelers to a field goal triumph, and left Big Ben with a 16-0 record as a starter. His winning streak, however, came to an end in the AFC Championship Game to the revenge-minded New England Patriots, who picked off Rothelisberger three times; a 2nd-quarter pick was returned by Rodney Harison for a back-breaking touchdown. Rothelisberger threw two touchdown passes but could not overcome the Superbowl-bound Patriots in a 41-27 drilling of the Steelers.

It was his first career loss as a pro, and his second loss would come some nine months later in a suspenseful 23-20 loss to the Patriots. He would bounce back, leading the Steelers to a 11-5 record in 2005. As a wild card, the Steelers went on to defeat the division champion Cincinatti Bengals, heavily-favored Indianapolis Colts, and the re-energized Denver Broncos to earn a berth in Super Bowl XL against the Seattle Seahawks.

Although he struggled in the Super Bowl, Ben was able to do just enough to help the Steelers to their first NFL championship since the 1979 season. At age 23, he became the youngest quarterback to lead his team to a Super Bowl win.

However, the celebration was short-lived as Rothlisberger was seriously injured in a near-fatal off-season motorcycle accident, to which he was not wearing a helmet. He was able to recover and now shows no signs of injury.

christina scavo

Christina Scavo claims that after she turned Favre down, husband Joseph Scavo confronted the QB, asking him to apologize. Scavo says she and Shannon O'Toole were not asked to work for the Jets again.

Brett Favre was recently fined by the NFL for not cooperating in its investigation of sexting allegations by former Jets reporter Jenn Sterger.
Brett Favre’s massage therapists Christina Scavo and Shannon O’Toole are suing mad (or are they?)! The Huffington Post is reporting that the two women, both who were hired on by the Jets back in 2008, have filed a lawsuit against the Minnesota Vikings quarterback. Somehow I had a hunch that the Jenn Sterger scandal wasn’t going to be the end of Favre’s problems.

According to ABC News, Scavo is saying that Favre sent various text messages to another massage therapist (who is unnamed at this time), to do the deed with each other and Favre! In other words, he wanted a three-some. This was back in 2008 when Brett was working with the New York Jets. If you recall, that is the same team he worked for when that whole Jenn Sterger scandal allegedly happened.

In the court documents, Brett’s text messages apparently said, “Brett here, you and Crissy want to get together, I’m all alone”. Another text read, “Kinda lonely tonight, I guess I have bad intentions.”

And get this, Scavo’s husband was furious and asked the baller for an apology. However, according to the lawsuit, Favre “responded in an inappropriate manner and refused.” In other words, if he did act in an inappropriate manner he will be pulling the same unaccountability for his actions as he did with Ms. Sterger.

It’s probably a good thing that Favre is retiring. Can you imagine the boos that he’d probably receive if he were to step out onto the football field again and would he even be able to play with a clear head?

Are you guys ready for a possible Tiger Woods type situation? Hold on tight. There could be more females popping out of the woodwork soon!

What do you think? Is Brett Favre guilty or are Christina Scavo and Shannon O’Toole just seeking a paycheck?

Conrad Murray

MJ
On June 25, 2009, American singer Michael Jackson died after he suffered cardiac arrest at his home in the Holmby Hills neighborhood in Los Angeles, California. His personal physician, Conrad Murray, said he found Jackson in his room, not breathing but with a faint pulse, and that he administered CPR to no avail. Jackson was treated by paramedics at his home, but was pronounced dead at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center.[1] While initial reports discussed the possible role of painkillers in Jackson's death,[1][2] attention later turned to the medications he reportedly took for insomnia, most notably the anesthetic propofol (Diprivan).
On August 28, 2009, the Los Angeles County Coroner declared Jackson's death a homicide caused by the combination of drugs in his body.[3] Before his death, Jackson reportedly had been administered propofol, along with two anti-anxiety benzodiazepines: lorazepam and midazolam.[4] Law enforcement officials investigated Jackson's personal physician, who told investigators that he had been trying to wean him off propofol. On February 8, 2010, Murray pleaded not guilty to charges of involuntary manslaughter, and was released after posting a US$75,000 bail.[5]
Jackson's death triggered an outpouring of grief around the world, creating unprecedented surges of Internet traffic and causing sales of his music and that of the Jackson 5 to increase dramatically.[6] Jackson had been scheduled to perform his This Is It concert series to over one million people at London's O2 arena, from July 13, 2009 to March 6, 2010.[7] His public memorial service was held on July 7, 2009, at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, where he had rehearsed for the London concerts the night before his death. His memorial service was broadcast live around the world, attracting a global audience of up to one billion people.[8] In March 2010, Sony Music Entertainment signed a US$250 million deal with Jackson's estate to retain distribution rights to his recordings until 2017, and to release seven posthumous albums over the decade following his death. His death ranked #1 on VH1/VH1 Classic's list of 100 Most Shocking Moments in Music.

Michael Jackson's producer/director for the "This Is It" tour will be a star witness for the prosecution in Dr. Conrad Murray's preliminary hearing which begins today  ... sources tell TMZ.
Our sources tell us ... Kenny Ortega will testify that on June 19, 2009 -- a week before MJ died -- Michael complained he was cold, had the shakes and was unable to perform ... so the rehearsal was canceled.

The next day -- June 20 -- an emergency meeting was held at Michael's home.  Kenny Ortega, several big wigs from AEG, Michael, and Dr. Conrad Murray were present.  We're told the meeting was "intense, loud and argumentative."  Kenny read Michael the riot act, imploring him to take better care of himself because the tour was imminent.

Ortega will testify, during the meeting, Dr. Murray said some "terrible things," showing a lack of concern and respect for Michael.  Our sources would not reveal specifics, but we're told it's "damaging" to Murray.

Sources say rehearsals were canceled on June 21 and 22 so Michael could regain his strength. Ortega will testify ... when rehearsals resumed on June 23 and 24 -- the day before Jackson died -- Michael did a complete turnaround, wowing the backup dancers and others present with his moves and singing.

Ortega's testimony is important, because prosecutors will argue MJ was fine before Murray began pumping him with drugs the day he died.

Iphone Alarm Not Working

Senin, 03 Januari 2011

Thousands of angry iPhone users overslept and were even late for work and flights yesterday after a New Years Eve software glitch cancelled the phone's alarms.
The iPhone's non-recurring alarms stopped working for a staggering two days after the clocks struck midnight to usher in 2011.
Instead, thousands of smart phone owners got a surprise lie-in and many were forced to blame the glitch for being late for work.
The bug was the latest in a series of embarrassing blunders for Apple after the iPhone failed to cope when the clocks went back one hour on October 31.
Phone chiefs have promised the phone will automatically rectify the bug today just in time for when millions of people across Britain return to work after the festive break.
An outpouring of online anger ensued as people bemoaned missed dates, turning up late for work or missing that annual 'happy new year' phone call to loved ones.
Dan Linfoot wrote on Twitter: 'iPhone alarm didn't work today! Slept in by 15mins.'
Matt Burfield wrote: 'Why the hell did my alarm not go off on my iPhone? Arggh'
Flight attendant Fion Chan wrote: 'Luckily I managed to wake up on my own. I don't want to lose my job on the first day of the year.'
Jayne Hoskins wrote: 'Can anyone shed any light on the iPhone alarm not working since new year?? I've just over slept by 2 hrs??'
Footballers Rio Ferdinand and Robbie Savage, who are followed by hundreds of thousands on Twitter, issued warnings to their followers yesterday about the alarm error.
It is the third alarm failure in months after some iPhones missed the clocks going back one hour for British Winter Time meaning people were given an extra hour in bed.
Similar problems affected iPhone users in Australia and New Zealand in September, causing their alarms to go off an hour early in the southern hemisphere.
Apple issued a statement advising many of its phones would not work at the start of 2011 but the warning was missed by its thousands of customers.
The glitch effected non-recurring iPhone alarms which stopped working for devices running iOS 4.02, 4.1, and 4.2.1.
An Apple spokesman said: 'We're aware of an issue related to non-repeating alarms set for January 1 or 2.
'Customers can set recurring alarms for those dates and all alarms will work properly beginning January 3.'
It is unclear what caused the alarm to fail, but technology experts say it could be due to a bug in the iPhone 4's operating system

Born This Way Lyrics

Tonight I will return
all the fame and riches earned,
with you I'd watch them all be burned

I'm Beautiful In My Way,
Cause God Makes No Mistakes,
I'm On The Right Track, Baby
I Was Born This Way

Located at a concert in Poland, Lady Gaga spoke to her fans about her forthcoming album which is titled “Born This Way.” “I promise that I will not disappoint! I don’t just say so…The album is finished and is really very good, “said the singer. Struggling with strong emotions that overcome her, Lady Gaga has told her fans that everything is because of them: “all I did, this album is as it is, for you. I promise to give you the best album of the decade.”
Moreover, the talented singer said the album “Born This Way” will be much “deeper” than previously album, “The Fame Monster” and she talked about some strange topics like “What keeps us from sleeping at night and cause us concerns”. Tony Carter, manager of the singer, said a while ago that he is extremely pleased with Lady Gaga’s work, classifying the new album as “incredible.” He is not only one impressed with the singer’s voice, her talent and creativity. Akon, the artist Lady Gaga has worked with since before entering the music industry herself, says that this album will be unbelievable. “It’s very creative. She always finds a way, a solution, always, “says the artist, who has brought his contribution on “Born This Way”. “What’s coming,” he said, “if you didn’t watched her until now, she will blow your minds. She is amazing when it comes to get things to another level.”
